The new BR186 locomotive in our fleet
We are pleased to inform that to the list of locomotives used by Captrain in Poland is now longer as the new BR186-265 locomotive, belonging to AKIEM, has joined our fleet. This is the first multi-system locomotive, which Captrain Poland leases directly from the owner, and which will be used mainly in Poland (so far, locomotives of this type were part of a common reserve from which we used as needed, mainly to transport rails for Arcelor Mittal).
The BR186-265 locomotive is brand new (technical acceptance in Kassel was held on January 13 and 14 this year) and we hope that it will be a perfect complement to the current structure of the fleet, the backbone of which are diesel BR232 locomotives and electric EU07. The acquisition of the BR186 locomotive aims to refresh our fleet and adapt it to the ever-changing railway transport market in Poland.
What is extremely important is the fact that the owner of the locomotive is the French company AKIEM, which belongs to the same capital group as SNCF. AKIEM has experience in the supply of locomotives on the Polish market (our locomotive is the 5th in Poland owned by the Company). Cooperation with AKIEM demonstrates the determination of both partners in the development of business activities in Poland. We are convinced that the cooperation within the capital group will bring tangible results.
